LensDay — User Guide
Last updated: 2026-05-30
1. Welcome to LensDay
LensDay is your daily self-development coach. You check in — by typing, talking, or adding a photo or short video — and your coach reflects back what it notices, then asks the kind of questions that help you go a little deeper. Over time, it learns your patterns and shows them back to you as insights.
It’s free to start — no credit card, no catch. And it’s private by design: we never collect the content of your check-ins, voice recordings, photos, or videos.
A few things that make LensDay different:
- A coach that speaks. Hear your coaching read aloud, in a voice you choose.
- A real conversation. Follow-up questions take each session deeper — not a single canned reply.
- It gets to know you. Fill in About You and your coaching becomes noticeably more personal.
- Insights over time. LensDay quietly notices patterns across your check-ins and surfaces them.
- However suits you. Type, talk, or add a photo or short video — whatever fits the moment.
- In your language. The whole experience — your coaching included, not just the menus — in English, Spanish, French, German, or Portuguese (Brazil).
2. Get the app
Getting started takes about a minute, and there’s nothing to pay or set up.
- Open Google Play, search for LensDay, and tap Install — or tap the download button on this page.
- Open the app once it’s installed.
- Tap Continue with Google to create your account. There’s no password to set or remember.
You won’t be asked for a credit card — not now, and not to finish setting up.
3. Meet your coach
When you first open LensDay, you’ll choose your language and set up your coach. It’s quick, and you can change any of it later.
- Choose your language — LensDay works fully in English, Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese (Brazil): the whole app and your coaching, not just the menus. You can switch anytime later in your Profile.
- Answer one quick question about what brings you to LensDay, so your coach knows where to focus.
- Choose how your coach speaks to you — Direct, Warm, or Observant.
- Choose how your coach addresses you — use your first name, a nickname, or no name at all.
- Choose how your coach sounds — preview the voices and pick the one you like (a voice like Finley is selected to start). You can switch voices anytime from your Profile.
- Make your privacy choice — you’ll be asked whether to share anonymous usage analytics. It’s optional, never includes the content of your check-ins, and you can change it whenever you want.
4. Your daily check-in
This is the heart of LensDay. There’s no right way to do it — some days you’ll want to type, other days just to talk.
- On your Home screen, tap Start today’s check-in.
- Tell your coach what’s on your mind — every check-in starts with your words:
- Tap Type to write it out, or
- Tap Voice to record a voice note — LensDay transcribes it for you, so you can just speak. The first time you use it, your phone asks permission to use the microphone — tap Allow to record.
- (Optional) Add a photo or short video for extra context — a welcome addition, not a substitute for your words. The first time, your phone asks permission to use the camera — tap Allow.
- When it feels complete, tap Send to coach.
What to expect: a check-in isn’t a journal entry — a few honest sentences (typed or spoken) are plenty, and a photo or video is optional.
Your privacy: LensDay only asks for the microphone or camera the first time you actually use them — never on launch — and your words, photos, and videos are never collected as content.

5. Your coaching session
A check-in isn’t a one-and-done reply — it’s a short conversation. Your coach responds, and the two of you go a little deeper together.
Read your coach’s reflection. Within a few seconds, your coach replies with what it noticed in your check-in.
Hear it aloud. Tap Listen to have your coach read its reply in the voice you chose.
- Play / pause to listen at your own pace.
- Stop to end playback.
Listening is always optional — your coach’s reply is there to read, too. Reach for Listen when you’re alone or have headphones in and want the words to land more personally. When you’re in public, around other people, or without headphones, reading keeps your reflection private — nothing is spoken aloud for anyone nearby to hear.
Go deeper. Below the reflection, your coach asks a follow-up question.
- Pick one of the suggested answers.
- Your coach responds again and, if there’s more to explore, asks another question.
- Each answer takes the session a little deeper — this back-and-forth is where the real reflection happens.
A closing thought. When the conversation reaches a natural end, your coach offers a short synthesis — what it heard, plus a small, concrete next step or two to carry with you.
How far a session goes depends on your plan: every session gives you a full reflection and follow-up, and on the free trial and on premium your coach goes deeper with more rounds. (More on plans below.)
6. Help your coach know you
Your coach gets more useful the more it understands your world. About You is an optional set of short prompts about your life — your work, your relationships, what you’re working toward, what’s weighing on you. Fill in as much or as little as you like; your coach draws on it to make its reflections genuinely about you.
- Open your Profile and tap About You (you’ll also see a gentle prompt to complete it).
- Move through the short pages, answering whatever feels relevant — skip anything that doesn’t.
- Your answers save as you go. That’s it — your next check-in will already feel more tailored.
You can update About You anytime as life changes; the more current it is, the more on-point your coaching.
Like everything else, this stays private — it’s used to personalize your coaching, never shared.
7. Insights
As you check in over time, LensDay looks across your sessions and notices patterns you might not catch yourself — recurring themes, shifts in how you’re feeling, the things that keep coming up. It gathers these into Insights.
- Tap Insights in the bottom navigation.
- Browse the cards — each names a pattern LensDay has noticed and what it might mean.
- Tap a pattern to expand it and see more; check back as you keep going, since insights grow richer the more history you build.
Insights are part of your free trial and premium, and they need a little history to form — give them a few check-ins to take shape.
8. History
Every check-in is saved so you can look back. History is your timeline — a quiet record of where you’ve been.
- Tap History in the bottom navigation.
- Scroll through your past check-ins; tap any one to reopen it.
- Re-read your coach’s words — and tap Listen to hear them again, just like the first time.
Looking back is its own kind of reflection. Patterns that are hard to see day to day often stand out across weeks.
9. Make it yours
LensDay bends to fit you. Everything you set at the start can be changed later from your Profile.
- Language. LensDay is fully available in English, Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese (Brazil) — the whole app and your coaching, not just the menus. You first pick your language when you open the app; tap Profile → Language to switch anytime.
- Coach voice. Tap Profile → Coach Voice to preview and change the voice your coach speaks in.
- Default avatar. Choose the avatar — Female, Male, or Neutral — that appears on check-ins where you don’t add a photo or video, from your Profile.
- Check-in reminders. Turn on a gentle daily reminder and pick the time at Profile → Notifications, so checking in stays a habit. (The first time, your phone asks permission to send notifications — tap Allow.)
- Account details. See your name, email, plan, and join date at Profile → Account Details.
- Help & support. Find answers to common questions, or reach us, at Profile → Help & Support.
10. Free to start. Upgrade when you’re sure.
LensDay is free to start — no credit card. You begin with 7 days of full access: the complete experience, every feature, nothing held back.
After those 7 days, you move to the permanent free tier — yours to keep, at no cost, for as long as you like. You’ll still have your daily check-in and your coach’s reflection; some of the richer features become part of premium.
Premium keeps the full experience going. It adds:
- Photo, video, and voice check-ins (the free tier is text-based)
- Deeper sessions — more back-and-forth before the closing synthesis
- Insights — the patterns LensDay surfaces over time
- The full range of coach voices
When you’re ready — and only when you’re sure — you can upgrade from the app:
- Tap to see plans — from your Profile, or whenever the app offers premium. You’ll see the current options and pricing right there.
- Choose a plan and confirm through Google Play.
- Manage or change your subscription anytime at Profile → Subscription.
No rush, and no catch. Try LensDay properly first — upgrade only if it earns a place in your day.
11. Your data, your control
You’re always in control of your information, and the tools are right in the app.
- Export your data. Go to Profile → Data Export to download a copy of everything LensDay holds for you.
- Change your analytics choice. Go to Profile → Privacy & Data to turn anonymous usage analytics on or off, anytime.
- Delete your account. Go to Profile → Delete account. Your account enters a 30-day grace period — change your mind within those 30 days and you can reactivate it; after that, it’s permanently removed.
For the full picture of what’s collected, why, and your rights, read the Privacy Policy at lensday.app/privacy.
The promise underneath all of it: we never collect the content of your check-ins, voice recordings, photos, or videos.
12. Tips to get the most out of LensDay
A few small things that make the habit stick:
- Check in at a consistent time. Anchoring it to something you already do — morning coffee, the commute, last thing at night — helps it become routine.
- When you don’t feel like typing, talk. A short voice note on a tired day still counts.
- Answer the follow-up questions honestly. A session goes only as deep as you let it.
- Fill in About You, and keep it current. It’s the quickest way to better coaching.
- Revisit your Insights now and then. Patterns are easier to act on once you can see them.
